About the Project

HealthyGNV is a collaboration of the City of Gainesville, Florida, along with the University of Florida Center for Public Interest Communications and The Agency

The City of Gainesville has asked a team of University of Florida researchers and practitioners to identify potential solutions and strategies that will affirm positive behavior and discourage behaviors that are likely to transmit the SARS-CoV-2 virus with the goal to reduce the impact of COVID-19 on our communities.

Project Goals:
  1. Affirm and support those already making healthy choices so that they continue to do so
  2. Create an environment that makes it easy and socially appealing to make healthy choices
  3. Create shared public goals
  4. Co-design interventions and explorations with City officials and business owners
Target Communities:
  1. Socially active student-age residents of Alachua County and visitors
  2. Business owners, particularly those proprietors of restaurants and bars in downtown and mid-town regions
  3. Those who influence both communities such as bartenders, football players/athletes, musicians, social influencers
